Obituary

Amelia Ann Adcock "Trip" Hannigan passed away Friday, September 8, 2017 after a battle with congestive heart failure. Trip led a full, long, wonder-filled life, having reached 91 years of age May 4, 2017.
Trip loved life and life loved her back. She always saw the best in everyone, preferring to believe that the worst wasn't really that bad. She not only believed in "turn the other cheek", she lived it!

The long-time Shreveport resident was very proud of her chosen profession - executive secretary. Trip worked as an executive assistant first in the oil and gas industry and later in outdoor advertising.
And, while she was very proud of her work, her real pride and joy was her family, her friends and her church. She loved to cook for and laugh with them all. She's probably whipping up a smoked brisket dinner in heaven right now.
Most of all Trip had a kind and warm heart that just made folks feel better. And while we will not see her bright smile again, we will forever hold it in our hearts.
Born in Mt. Olive, Mississippi and raised in Red River Parish, she was preceded in death by her husband T.V. Hannigan, Jr. and her parents Clyde and Delia Adcock. She leaves behind daughter, Brenda Hodge Kors and husband David; son, Randy Hodge and Marilyn Jackson; daughter, Melanie Hodge Lawless; eight grandchildren including Joscelyn Baynham Decuir and husband Cartrell; Jennifer Baynham Laird and husband Jason; Adrienne Kors Horn and husband Clay; Angela Hodge McFerren and husband Michael; Amy Hodge; Megan Lawless Caldwell and husband Toby; Andrew Lawless; and Tori Lawless; eight great-grandchildren including Casen and Cole Decuir; Blayne and Colt McFerren; Amelia,Kase, Eli and Nainoa Caldwell. She is also survived by her sister Monel Bass, nephew Dennis Bass and niece Teri Bass.
Services will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, La. 71108 with visitation at 1:30 p.m. until services at 2:30 p.m. Burial services will follow.
Dr. Tom Harrison, Executive Pastor Broadmoor Baptist Church, will officiate with David Kors, Cartrell Decuir, Michael McFerren, Mike Baynham, Andrew Lawless and Dennis Bass serving as pallbearers. Jason Laird and Jim Lawless are honorary pallbearers.
Special heartfelt thanks to the staff of Spring Lake Guest Care Hall B for their compassionate, dedicated care of Ms. Trip.
