Shreveport, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Jewel Francis Dison, 91, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Bro. Buck Furlow. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until service time on Thursday.

Mrs. Dison was born on July 2, 1926 in Bienville Parish, LA and passed away on May 14, 2017 in Shreveport, LA. She was a dedicated and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. Mrs. Dison grew up in and around Bienville, LA and Saline, LA. Jewel was a military wife until 1959 when her husband retired. After his retirement from the military they moved to Southern Hills and lived for 6 years before moving to Stonewall where they lived for 40 years. When they moved to Stonewall the family tradition of having "Sunday dinner at Mamaw's" began. She was active in numerous community organizations including the Desoto Parish Homemakers Association. After living in Stonewall for 40 years Mr. and Mrs. Dison moved back to Shreveport where they resided the rest of their lives'.
Mrs. Dison was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Cornelius Dison and sisters, Rosemary, Hazel, Evelyn and Betty.
Left to cherish beautiful memories of Jewel is her son, Thomas Dison and wife Carol; daughter, Diana Estes and husband Lubie; grandchildren, Teri, Tommy, Jr., Daniel, Katie and Jason; 11 great grandchildren and10 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Mrs. Dison as pallbearers will be: Don Cobb, Lee Kelly, Tommy Dison, Daniel Dison, Bo Samec and Danny Welsh.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Harmony Life Hospice, Bonnie Yarbrough and Katie Maxwell and Carol Dison for the love and care shown to Mrs. Dison over the last two years of her life.
